Karen is also an entrepreneur and businesswoman with over 22 years of experience working in healthcare and education. Karen has been a guest expert many times on prominent national talk shows to discuss mental health, and even had her own radio show for many years which provided dialogue about mental health issues.
Some of Karen’s titles and positions throughout her career include: Officer and Director including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Clinical Director, Compliance Officer, Director of Education, and Educator.
Karen Corcoran Walsh is also an author and spokeswoman who has devoted much of her career to the traumas and struggles facing young people today and helping them through their mental health challenges. Karen provides compassion with her patient care and creates business models of sustainability for the clinical profession.
Karen is consistently active in philanthropy and as a community advocate, and she works with many non-profit organizations including Boca Helping Hands, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), NOPE Task Force, 4 Kids Foster Care, and The Human Trafficking Coalition. Recently Karen also launched an ongoing scholarship, The Karen Corcoran Walsh Scholarship for Mental Health Awareness, which provides funding for students who will be the future leaders in the mental health field.
Karen Corcoran Walsh’ enjoys continued education through university and certificate programs providing her with continued up-to-date research and advanced education, leaving a trail of educational accomplishments to include a Doctorate degree, a Master of Science degree, and a Bachelor of Science Degree, with multiple behavioral certifications and national addiction professional certifications, including Master Certified Addiction Professional with International Reciprocity, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Florida Supreme Court Mediation and Sound Therapy.
Karen continues her education and understands the importance of keeping up to date with new research and advancements in the field.
